Scottish Ornithologists’ Club

Artwork of a wryneck from A Nazi in the FamilyMany thanks to the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club, which hosted me on a three-night tour of Glasgow in October 2013, Lothian and St Andrews. This was the heart of George Waterston’s fiefdom, and there were a number of people there who knew him well. I was delighted to present the SOC with a piece of artwork from the book – a Rob Hume illustration of a wryneck (p.147); the bird that Waterston studied exhaustively.
